All Weather Pitch

We need your help and will now focus all our fundraising efforts to raise £175,000

Most critically as the pitch is

rapidly reaching end of life we

       urgently need to replace the

       playing surface.

       The cost for replacement of

       the carpet is £175,000.

The great news is that we have

      already raised £77,282 so we're

well on the way.  We have a

      grant application in with the

      Hockey Foundation requesting

      £50,000 which means, that if

successful we still need to raise

£47,718.  We would like to request

all clubs that use the AWP to

      consider donations to reduce this

      target further and remind all

      members that have not yet

      donated to pitch squares pick

one or more of the remaining

squares and donate with gift aid.

Please also register to support the

monthly 500 Club Lottery and if

you have forgotten to register for

Amazon smile please do it today!

As a member of Berkshire County Sports Club we know you appreciate the constant efforts to improve your club.  Recent improvements to the bar, changing rooms and heating for bar and squash courts have all been funded with the support of sponsors and those enjoying sport and entertainment at the club.

These are all terrific improvements but the to do list is a long one - and it is growing.  The most urgent, and expensive action that we must take is the replacement of the playing surface on the all weather pitch which is wearing out fast and will need to be replaced within 6 months which is an extremely tight timeline.

Rapid deterioration

As you can see in these recent pictures, as the carpet wears out, it can no longer retain the sand.  During heavy rain, sand and mud rise up through the carpet making the playing surface hazardous and in some cases making the pitch unplayable.  With the excessive rain over the last six months, the degradation of the pitch has accelerated resulting in the urgent need to raise funds.  The A.W.P. is the single biggest source if income for the club.  Loosing this income would put the future of the club in serious jeopardy, so we are looking to every member of the club regardless of wether you use the pitch or not to do your very best to contribute what ever you can afford.
